Shipley Energy has a long-standing history of commitment to the community and a tradition of civic involvement across towns and communities in their Central Pennsylvania service area. They maintain an on-going initiative to identify local organizations and charities that would benefit from their support, and also seek to champion quality, innovative programs.
In cooperation with Thomas K. Flagg, President of Terpsichore Quest (a professional Educational Consulting company located in Frenchtown, New Jersey), Shipley Energy has underwritten RTKids' Spotlight on Broadway program at Foose Elementary in Harrisburg, PA. The program will be rooted on the words “POSITIVE ENERGY” – words that typically bring to mind children in social, athletic and artistic settings. In this case the theatrical genre is an ideal mechanism to convey this message.
Starting the week of September 26, over 100 5th and 6th grade students at the school will have the opportunity to participate in the week-long classes led by Rosie’s Theater Kids Artistic Director of PS Broadway, Thecla Morganstern, and a team of Rosie’s Theater Kids teaching artists. The workshop will culminate with two afternoon performances on Friday, September 30th. Both the 12:30pm and 2pm shows will feature the students performing the singing, acting and dance routines they learned during the week. The shows will be held at the Foose School in Harrisburg and are free and open to the public.
