Artistic Director of PS Broadway

Thecla Harris currently serves as the Artistic Director of PS Broadway, the staple program of Rosie’s Theater Kids that provides nearly 1,500 low-income fifth grade students annually with musical theater training. Since its 2003 inception, Thecla has helped develop and implement the program’s curriculum, as well as lead teaching training workshops using the classroom techniques unique to PS Broadway. She is also the driving force behind Spotlight on Broadway, the tuition-based and residency programs of RTKids. Her choreography has appeared on national and local levels, on numerous television shows and at charity events in New York City and throughout the tri-state area.
Thecla trained professionally with the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet and Dayton Ballet II, and was a guest performer with numerous companies. She received a BA from the University of Akron and has been teaching dance in the New York City public schools since 1995, including eight years with the National Dance Institute. Thecla also serves as Artistic Consultant for the Reach Out and Dance (ROAD) initiative of the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet and BalletMet’s Momentum in Columbus, Ohio.
